Siena, one of Tuscany’s most beautiful medieval cities, is known for its stunning Gothic architecture, rich history, and the famous Palio horse race.

   • Piazza del Campo: The heart of Siena and one of the most beautiful medieval squares in Italy, known for its shell shape and as the site of the Palio horse race.

   • Siena Cathedral (Duomo di Siena): A breathtaking Gothic cathedral with intricate marble facades, stunning frescoes, and works by Michelangelo, Donatello, and Pisano. Don’t miss the Piccolomini Library, famous for its vibrant frescoes.

   • Torre del Mangia: This 88-meter (289-foot) medieval tower offers a spectacular panoramic view of Siena and the Tuscan countryside. Climbing its 400 steps is well worth the effort!

   • Palazzo Pubblico & Civic Museum: Siena’s stunning town hall, home to historic frescoes, including Ambrogio Lorenzetti’s Allegory of Good and Bad Government.

   • Basilica of San Domenico: A significant religious site dedicated to St. Catherine of Siena, where relics of the saint are preserved.

   • Fonte Gaia: A beautiful Renaissance fountain in Piazza del Campo, originally sculpted by Jacopo della Quercia.
